Hmmm, in terms of a table top, language can be roleplayed without actually resorting to using the language itself, but using it proabably would be quite fun if hard to learn. I would only use language at most in ancient or at least traditional texts of the race, so I'd proably say in short (sorry to ramble a bit) As examples, the poem idea above to show the use of the language, and yes, proabably ranks of members of the race, a few slang words and common phrases.
I'd probably not put names to weapons that are prodominantly used by that race, most likely they would be known as that races name for them anyway.

I am slightly confused what you mean by the last bit. The rest I followed.
The weapons would probably be known by what that race calls them. - Which is why I suggested perhaps that the weapons or whatever are called by whatever the race would call them. Example, say one race had the katana.... they invented it, no one else really uses it, but they call it something else. would you call it what they call it in the book and put in a picture of a katana, or put katana in brackets? or would you call everything by the english words?
I've just got the rat back from having his injections, so I am a little frazzled. Never good to watch some nurse hurt your kiddie when they don't understand why.

Hehe, A little confusion on both our parts I think, I was tired when I wrote that last bit. Just ignore it!

Has anyone on their travels seen any interesting sites for medieval style armour and weapons? I would personally be interested in learning a bit more about them and maybe seeing some pictures. The guys do alot more of the weapons information than I do, so it's not necessary, but I am always interested to learn new things.

Thanks! This one looks useful for the practical side of things, making armour for live roleplay. I will of course be getting onto trying some of that out in the not too distant future and I will post some picures up of the results. I am looking for information about the history of the weaponry and armour of the time, history lesson style.

On my travels I have found patterns for the cloak from the LoTR and vanbrace patterns. If anyone is interested in making their own I can put up the links.

Hehe. I've got kit to make for characters, so any patterns would be good.
