Well as stereotypes go most societies have them, and you don’t have to be one of the typical people, but in some cultures if you go out side the norm people will start to treat you differently, however you can buck the norm as long as it's not in the public eye. ie a person who treats his slaves well might be view as week and foolish by his peer's if they ever knew what he was like to his slaves when they where not there to see he keeps face and has slaves that are treated well. Just to cover something discussed when this was brought up at a 'system test'. There are some nations cultures in our world that are extreme and look very poorly on people who don’t conform to certain ethics and beliefs...but there are ways around some of them...see above. I don’t know how much has been said about the game but we set out with the aim of making a game that is a world of fantasy but with it’s feet in realism.

suspension of disbelief does only go so far even in fantasy so yeah having realsticness to the fantasy is good.

In answer to your question Jim, not alot has been said about the current system or culture in the aim of finding out what people already enjoy or dislike about the systems that exist before introducing concrete settings/rules from our own. I have already learned and rethought some of the things that we do, and I am sure that you will agree that this is a useful exercise. (if not just good for the soul to vent sometimes.)

You may not have much trade, I suspect that many of the people here have already sold theirs to buy roleplay books.

Ewww...... scary. There's an advert to read about george w. bush and his flip flops on the forum. Get it off...... go away, shooo........
I have a question about language. (forgive me, i've been running around all day and I still have a meal to cook for a bunch of people tonight yet.... ) When it comes to the races within the world and their cultures, would you like to see their specific language used? If so, would you just want the name for their race, half a dozen words that are important (like the races, the hierarchy etc...) or more detailed information?

How about for language examples, a short poem or story in their language and it translated into common below.
For example Dwarvish, use Futhark runes in a simple direct translation perhaps.

In similar fashion, if runes were chosen for say the dwarves, would you want the name the dwarves give themselves in their language beneath the main title for them?
If they would call their weapons (any race not just dwarves) something other than what the other races call it, would you prefer to see their names used?
Would example names for girls/boys in that race be expected ?
Would dfiffering names/ ceremonies for births, deaths, marriages be covered in the language aswell as explanation of how/why they differ?
I guess, what I am asking, is given the choice, would you want language for any one race to be more or less covered than white wolf ( a page of lexicon of the hierarchy and a few slang words for other groups.)
