Sort of Mark... most of the posters are either members of the team (who have played in CoS, NB, Altear, PN, DG .... some of them have never played in the online chats... ) and players I have nabbed onto my aim over the years, most of which came from NB originally. The rare one *points at bogof* came from the Mayfest forums.
Well, you're welcome to bring anyone you want here, just so long as they have some interest in roleplay games and were not spammed into coming here. Most chats have rules about advertising because they are WW chats and the dark spiral banns them from advertising on the free chats.

Ah... I did. A long time ago I made a character website and decided to go through the bumpf so I could make it official and use quotes from WW without getting into trouble. God there are so many rules on the dark spiral it isn't funny, most chats are breaking them. For example, you have to have a paying chat in order to run a dark spiral approved site because of the advertising banners on all free products. You cannot quote more than I think 500-1000 words from any WW book, even if it is necessary for character creation to quote more. (which meant when I did ST pages I had to paraphrase the litany bigstyle.)
You know, I think they'd make more money if they allowed dark spiral sites to charge and took a percentage of the profits. The quality of chat's might go up too, professionals might consider running them.

you dont have to have a pay site anymore.. remember you cant put a DS label on your site without expressed written approval by WW.

Duh... I found out about all the rules and regulations because I wanted to get a dark spiral tag.... You think I am stupid enough not to know I needed their permission? I had it.... but they would not give permission for a chat to run a dark spiral site if they charged for admission or were paid for advertising anything. So the freebie sites with the banner ads were a no no. Heh... luckily it doesn't matter in the slightest. yay.

the way i read your originial post was that you thought a site had to pay to get the DS tag.
