Does this game tackle the concept of religion?

Definately Mark. In theory anything that makes up a world is covered to some degree. Is there something specific that you were interested in?

Well, although it's probably the wrong board to be asking on, might aswell ask where it comes up.... How much detail would you be interested to see an individual religion covered in?

hmm.. lets see if i can express this right.. it would be good that the game play, setting etc... show'd a strong presence of the IC religion/s to the point that the players understand that the "church" is a powerful force and not just a peice of background setting.

This is a fantasy world where the gods are firmly believed to exist and are worshipped/feared in equal measure. I guess what I am asking is how much information about an individual god would you expect to know as a player/ST?

I think I'm talking more about the feel of religion in the game.. in AD&D gods are sort of part of the setting, they grant powers to cleric and priests but beyond that no one does anything with them.. theres no 10 commandments of the gods or no bible or koran... the feel of the chruch in most fantasy games is minimal at best.

Aha... so the crux of it is that you would like to see an actual structure to the religion, that they would have some tales of their origins, information about their followers, dictates of their faith etc... Taking this into account, how many pages would you be happy for religion to take up of the overall game?
How much information would others want about religions, is this too much/not enough?

Perhaps that could encompass abook on its own. That way people can take it into account as much or as little as they feel they want to.

There's an idea..... but the basics would have to be in the main book though wouldn't it.? As gods/goddess and religion play a major role in the world.

main book would need basic setting and logistics.. the subsequent book would be done in a way that it would seem like part of the setting like the bible or koran.

Good idea, mark, Though it may be difficult, it would e a good way of doing it, but I am sure even if we dont write a whole book like you suggest we will place *bible* stories into the books to ad feel and substance, and to let people know what each religeon stands for and why

well when i say bible.. i definitely dont mean something as long as that.. if you've seen the "teaching from the dark mother" or the "book of nod" they're not big books by any stretch but they do give a nice feel.
